The road is a story set in an apocalyptic world, devastated by a mysterious cataclysm, in which a father and son traveling to the coast to find a safe place to live. During their journey they cross paths with many dangers, and most of the few remaining human beings, most of whom have gone mad or have become cannibals. The trip becomes a fight for survival. Finally the players reach their goal, to reach the south where survival is easier (more normal weather situation, more food ...) and where they find one of the few families living in them and their host.
The film is based on the novel by Cormack McCarthy, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2006.
Some of the parallels to be found with respect to classic the Odyssey are as follows: The first and clearest is the journey we embark on a father and son to your desired destination (the south); compared with this work, Ulysses has also forced a journey towards your goal. In both stories the main feature of these trips is that it is a long, hard road, with great difficulty and many dangers, but in the case of the film that I present is not only a return trip to a target.
The main characters have to face the few people who live on earth, most of these cannibals, are also affected by harsh weather conditions affecting the land after the disaster and make it difficult to trip, or the food shortages. For his part in the Odyssey Odysseus faced all sorts of dangers and obstacles to come to an end since the Lotus Eaters, Cyclops, sirens ...
